Giving Songs Treasurer Lawrence Thurman presents a life changing grant to Adriana and her family.

April 2016 – Adriana’s MV-1 (Mobility Vehicle One); $15000+

Adriana is a 10 year old girl who was long overdue for a vehicle that meets her many needs.   We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to help this wonderful family regain the basic freedom of transportation.  Giving Songs was able to directly contribute $15,000 with an additional $10,000 in third party grant writing assistance for a total impact of $25,000.  (55% of the vehicle’s cost!)

September 2015 – Addisyn’s MV-1 (Mobility Vehicle One); $18100+

Addisyn is a 5 year old girl who faces a tremendous mix of challenges.  Addi’s mom heard about Giving Songs from a friend who saw a news segment about what we do.  With some hard work and patience we were able to help this wonderful family with a down payment in the amount of $18,100.  Additionally, we worked to find and obtain an additional $11,000 in other grants and discounts for a total vehicle cost reduction of $29,100 (51% of initial price!).  Now Addi and her family can safely go where they need to, when they need to!  Thank you to the hundreds of Giving Songs contributors that made this life changing event possible!

Giving Songs Director Matt Swindall presents a life changing grant to Tyler and his family.

September 2014 – Tyler’s MV-1 (Mobility Vehicle One); $10000.00+

Tyler is an 11 year old boy who faces a number of unique challenges.  Tyler’s parents found the Giving Songs CD in a local shop and realized that they were a perfect match for our organization’s support.  Giving Songs donated $10,000 to Tyler’s family to assist in the purchase of an MV-1.  We also worked with other like minded organizations to raise an additional $9,000.  The total impact covered 37% of the cost of this life changing vehicle, resulting in the freedom of affordable and accessible transportation.  Tyler’s mom wrote us shortly after picking up the MV-1, “We absolutely LOVE the new vehicle!  Yesterday I was able to pick Tyler up from school, run some errands, and go to the grocery store – without any help, and without any back ache.”  This is exactly why we do what we do – to change lives, one family at a time!

Giving Songs President Brent Johnson presents Kassidy’s family with a life changing grant

November 2012 – Kassidy’s VPG MV-1 (Mobility Vehicle One); $7500.00+

Kassidy is twelve years old and has been diagnosed with spastic quadriplegia as well as visual impairment.  Kassidy’s mother, Karen, has struggled for 12 years to transport Kassidy in a traditional vehicle.  Giving Songs donated $7500 to Kassidy’s family to assist in the purchase of an MV-1 mobility vehicle and worked with Kassidy’s family to secure an additional $4000 from MV-1 of Michigan, and $1600 from the Michigan Children with Special Needs Fund.  All together Giving Songs arranged over $13,000 to make life easier for a working middle-class family.  The afternoon that the family received their vehicle, Karen was able to take Kassidy to a medical appointment by herself, for the first time in years.  Kassidy’s family and Giving Songs want to thank all of the wonderful people who have generously provided their time and donations to make this possible.
